David Roemer and Campus MovieFest

http://www.campusmoviefest.com/events/bayarea/index.html

Campus MovieFest (CMF), the world's largest student film festival, provides over 50,000 students a year with Apple laptops loaded with Final Cut Studio and iLife, camcorders, training, and inspiration to tell their short stories on the big screen -- all for free.

CMF was started by four students, and now travels to over 50 colleges and universities around the globe in a search for the top up-and-coming talent and creativity. Winning movies earn over $500,000 in prizes, meetings with industry execs, and exposure at red carpet events at historic venues, on AT&T phones, in-flight on Virgin America, at the Cannes Film Festival, and beyond.

David
Roemer, co-founder of Campus MovieFest who also works with Apple in its Applications Product Marketing group and previously in its Entertainment Marketing group, will share the story of CMF, including clips from top movies from around the Bay Area and worldwide.

SF Cutters: www.sfcutters.org

SF Cutters is the World's first Apple Final Cut Pro User Group forming in March of 2000.

That's right, the concept of a DV User Group, complete with networking, screenings and tech info centered around Apple Final Cut Pro was born right here in San Francisco. Currently there are over 100 chapters of Final Cut Pro and ProApps User Groups based upon our model. We are proud to be the founders of this exciting movement, dubbed in 1999 as "The DV Revolution". Viva!

SF Cutters meets regularly in San Francisco and the Bay Area Jan thru Nov, the schedule may vary from year to year.
